Milk Glass

Milk glass got its name from its milky white color. Milk Glass was created to look like porcelain only not so expensive to produce. Some pieces have been traced as far back as the 1500’s but the most commonly collected Milk Glass is from the 1700’s. There are newer reproductions which can be determined by its color. The older pieces of Milk Glass have an almost translucent appearance on the edges where as the newer pieces are white opaque.

I’ve been collecting Milk Glass for almost 2 years. I’d like to share with you just a few pieces from my growing collection. I enjoy the newer reproductions as well as the older pieces.
